Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….

Just before we started weaning our little boy I thought it would be a good idea for my husband and I to attend a first aid class.

I already had a wealth of first aid experience but I thought it best to know the specifics and differences within paediatric first aid. So along with our NCT group, we booked a Daisy First Aid class with the lovely Caroline, of Daisy South-West London.

I am really passionate about first aid and was so impressed with the course that I decided I wanted to be involved. After the class I trained to become a member of Caroline’s freelance team.

In October 2020 I became a fully fledged Daisy and took the plunge into running my own franchise. I am so pleased that I did; I love being part of the Daisy team and I love being able to teach expectant and new parents essential life-saving skills.

My background/own experience…

My background is in travel and for the past 14 years I have travelled the world as Cabin Crew. Every year I had extensive first aid training. From delivering babies to Cardiatric arrests, once up in the air, I needed to be able to deal with all medical emergencies.

I have dealt with a number of first aid situations and having children has reaffirmed just how important these skills are. I like to share my own parenting experiences in my Daisy classes so you will hear plenty of stories of an accident prone Austin and an adventurous Eadie.

What I love about teaching…

I love giving people confidence. First Aid can be a daunting subject so I like to impart my knowledge in fun and interactive ways. I leave each class on a high knowing that I have taught those attending life saving skills.

I know first hand that when you hold your little ones you understand how precious life is. and knowing if something should happen you would have those important skills is priceless! I love giving people that knowledge so they can enjoy each baby stage and embrace all the changes.
