FAQ’s

Are your paediatric first aid courses Ofsted compliant?

Yes. Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (PFA) and Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) courses comply with the latest Ofsted guidance on paediatric first aid for early years providers. If you’re unsure which course meets your specific registration requirements, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.

What's the difference between the Level 3 PFA and Level 3 EPFA courses?

The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (PFA) is a full 2-day qualification covering a comprehensive range of paediatric emergencies — this is the qualification most commonly required by Ofsted-registered childcare providers. The Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) is a shorter 1-day course, often used as a refresher qualification. Both are nationally recognised and regulated. If you’re unsure which is right for you, we recommend checking your Ofsted registration requirements or contacting us for guidance.

How long are the Level 3 qualifications valid for?

All Level 3 qualifications are valid for 3 years. We recommend booking a refresher course before your certificate expires to ensure you remain compliant with Ofsted requirements and current first aid guidelines.

Can you deliver training at our nursery or childcare setting?

Yes — several of our courses, including Anaphylaxis Awareness, can be delivered on-site at your school or childcare setting. This is often the most convenient option for teams, as it minimises disruption to your working day. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Are these courses suitable for childminders as well as nursery staff?

Absolutely. Our courses are designed to be relevant and practical for all childcare professionals, whether you’re a sole childminder, a member of a nursery team, a nanny, an au pair, or a children’s activity provider. We’ll help you identify the right course for your specific role and registration requirements.

Are your courses accredited?

Our Level 3 qualifications are regulated by Qualsafe Awards (RQF) or certified by Daisy First Aid Ltd and are nationally recognised qualifications. Daisy First Aid is also a multi award-winning training provider with over 11000 five-star reviews from parents and professionals across the UK.

Can I get a group booking for my nursery team?

Yes — we regularly work with nurseries, childcare settings, and activity providers to deliver group training. Booking as a group is a great way to ensure your whole team is trained to the same standard at the same time. Contact your local Daisy First Aid instructor to discuss availability and group options.
