FAQ’s

What is the difference between EFAW and FAW?

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a 1-day course covering core emergency first aid skills, suitable for those with a general responsibility to provide first aid in their workplace or community. The Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) is a more comprehensive 3-day course designed for those appointed as a designated first aider within their organisation. If you’re unsure which is right for you, your employer’s first aid needs assessment should indicate which qualification is required.

How long are the Level 3 first aid qualifications valid for?

Both the Level 3 EFAW and FAW qualifications are valid for 3 years. We recommend booking a refresher course before your certificate expires to ensure you remain compliant with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.

Are your Level 3 qualifications nationally recognised?

Yes — our Level 3 first aid qualifications are regulated by Qualsafe Awards (RQF) and are nationally recognised. They are accepted by employers across a wide range of industries and sectors throughout the UK.

Who are the adult first aid courses suitable for?

Our adult first aid courses are suitable for anyone who needs a recognised first aid qualification — whether you’re an appointed workplace first aider, a community volunteer, a sports coach, an activity leader, or an individual who simply wants to feel more confident responding to an emergency. Our courses are open to adults from any industry or background.

What does the Anaphylaxis Awareness course cover?

The Anaphylaxis Awareness course covers how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, how to administer an auto-injector such as an EpiPen, and how to put appropriate emergency management plans in place. It is suitable for anyone who may need to respond to anaphylaxis in a workplace, community, or care setting.

Do I need any previous first aid experience to attend?

No previous first aid experience is required for any of our adult first aid courses. Our expert instructors will guide you through everything you need to know in a clear, practical, and supportive environment. The Level 3 FAW course does cover more advanced content over 3 days, but is designed to be accessible to complete beginners.
