Hello, I’m Ashleigh and I am your Daisy first aid trainer for the Eastleigh.

Here is a little bit about me!…

About me:

I have been a qualified children’s nurse since 2012. Since qualifying I have worked in a variety of settings, including neonatal intensive care, the emergency department and most recently the Ambulance service. I’ve seen first hand how important it is that everyone knows what to do in an emergency.

When I’m not teaching or working for the NHS you will find me spending time with my own small human, building LEGO, playing monster trucks or baking cakes. As a mum I understand how scary it can be being a parent (yes even someone who has spent their carer caring for unwell children still gets nervous when their child is unwell).

Why I became a Daisy first aid trainer:

Children do not come with an instruction manual (would be so much easier if they did) and emergency’s can come at any time. I know how scary it is when a child is hurt or unwell, in that moment you don’t want to be googling what to do, you want to know what to do. I hope my training gives you the skills and knowledge to know what to do in order remain calm and act quickly.

My teaching:

As part of my roles in the NHS I have taught individuals of all skill levels. I understand that learning first aid can be scary, so my training style is very relaxed and supportive. Where you are free to ask as many questions as you wish, and I really mean it when I say there is no such thing as a stupid question. I like my courses to be very hands on and practical, easy to understand with no jargon. I can also add in real life experiences from my job.

My courses are designed to boost your confidence and reduce fear. I want you to leave my courses thinking ‘okay I’ve got this!’
