I’m Angela, the local Daisy First Aid Trainer for Chelmsford, Brentwood and Billericay.

Here are 5 things about me…

Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….

After having my twins, I really wanted a job within the training industry that provided flexibility as I couldn’t imagine working full time hours or being away from the family.

A friend who I used to train with set up a Daisy Franchise and asked if I would be her freelancer, I couldn’t believe my luck and said yes straight away.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 years freelancing as part of the wonderful Daisy team so when the opportunity came up this year to own my own area I couldn’t resist.

To be able to share my knowledge and help others to save lives is the best job in the world.

My background/own experience…

My training background started in the aviation industry where I was lucky enough to become a Cabin Crew Trainer.

Part of this training included aviation medicine which I taught to both crew and pilots, showing them how to deal with any medical emergency that may occur on board.

What I loved most about this medical training is that it is a skill that can be utilised in everyday life to help anyone when needed.

Lots of my first aid experience has come from being a mum, I have had to deal with a head injury, choking, possible fractures, burns and poisonings.

What I love about teaching…

I love meeting other parents and being able to share my knowledge with them.

My favourite part is when we all share stories with each other as I always learn something new too.

The best feeling is seeing how relieved and relaxed parents feel at the end of each class knowing they have the knowledge needed to deal with any situation.  It always gives me such a buzz.

My proudest moment…

After having my twins without doubt my proudest moment so far is that I have been able to set up my own Daisy First Aid Business.

Being able to find that balance to do a job that I love yet still have time to focus on my family and watch them grow makes me the luckiest girl in the world.

Something fun/interesting/ or important about me….

I have Natural Killer cells (NK cells) which mean I would never have had my twins without IVF.

I’m always happy to talk about my experience of pregnancy loss and IVF and don’t know why it is such a taboo subject.

I love dancing and am currently taking tap and fitsteps classes… whilst secretly imagining I’m a professional on Strictly!

Oh and I once appeared on Good Morning Britain with Dr Hilary Jones!
